A great family friend of mine, Jennifer "JJ" Jenkins, tragically passed away last week, along with her soon-to-be baby girl, Tanya. I grew up with JJ and her sister, Jeanie. Their mom, Peggy, was always like a second Mother to me. Jennifer was only 32 and about to have a child. How could something so horrible happen to such a faithful servant of God? The following verses give me comfort (thanks to my cousin, Camri, for bringing them to mind) when those thoughts even begin to enter my head:"To everything thing there is a season, a time for every purpose under Heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance" (Ecc 3:1-2, 4)
"All things work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose" (Rom 8:28)
MARKS, JENNIFER RENEE' "J.J." Loving mother and wonderful wife, Jennifer went to be with the Lord along with baby daughter, Tanya Renee', on March 26, 2008. Jennifer was born in Dallas, November 24, 1975. She was a graduate of Christway Academy in Duncanville, Liberty University, and SMU. Jennifer was a member of First Baptist, Dallas, a member of the Sanctuary Choir, and currently teaching at Ovilla Christian School. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 10 years, Scott Marks; son, Jonathan; her parents, Keith and Peggy Jenkins; Scott's parents, Roger and Joyce Marks; grandparents, Wendell and Marjie Jenkins; her sister, Jeanie White and husband Michael; many other loving relatives and a host of friends and students. Funeral services are 11:00 am, Saturday, March 29, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Dallas, 1707 San Jacinto. Visitation with the family is 6-9 pm, Friday, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Ovilla Christian School.
