The love of a sister...

As most of my friends know, my sister, Rhonda (or Boo as I prefer to call her), has a lung disease known as Pulmonary Fibrosis. She takes stabalizing medication for this disease and sadly, that medication prevents her from the ability to have healthy babies. My sister has wanted to have a child for as long as I can remember. I'm guessing since we were kids because she liked to pretend that she was my Mom most of the time ;-) ha.

Well yesterday she received the bad news that we'd always been dreading - that she will never be able to have those babies that she has so longed for. Without medication, her health will rapidly deteriorate. And with medication, a baby is just not possible. It breaks my heart to hear this news because I have always known how much she wanted to be a great Mother, just like our Mom.

In some way, I feel guilty that I'm completely healthy enough to have as many babies as I want but up to this point, I've chosen not to. Probably because my life is too insane most of the time. That and I would need a stable man in my life to make that happen. haha. But I just think, why would I be able to have babies and not really want one at age 27. Then my sister, on the other hand, has wanted a baby since she was 20 years old and CAN'T have one. I don't understand it but God has a plan that we just don't understand sometimes.

This verse comes to mind:

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

My beautiful, wonderful sister ~ you'll find that new plan for your life. I just know it. I love you so very much and even though I'm insane, I'm always right here.
