As some of you may know, I've had nodules on my vocal chords since I was in high school. This is what causes my wraspy smoker-esque voice. Sooo on Sunday we had an extra long catch up practice where my voice quickly started to diminish. It was my fault because I discontinued my Acid Reflux meds that help with the nodule swelling and inflammation. But I'd been all better for so long, I mistakenly thought maybe they'd gone away. Basically by the end of practice on Sunday, I could hardly speak.
Monday I made a trip to my ENT Dr who informed me that, sillyhead, the nodules never go away, they're always present and when I strain my voice, they get mad at me and start to rub together, eeeeeeee not fun. SO basically that's what happened over the past week or two.
Now I've officially been referred to a Speech Therapist to help me to use my diaphram when singing and speaking, rather than straining my vocal chords so much. BUT now I'm a little scared that the therapy is going to train me to sound differently. I hope not because I like my voice how it is! More updates to follow as my first session is May 7th ....

How about New Orleans for the bachorette?? Free stay at my grandparents casa??? Any takers??
Nodules suck. But I'm SUPER DUPER excited about your singing :)
New Orleans would be SAWEEEET! I haven't been there since high school with my family. Yeah this experience might be a slight bit cooler.
I'm pretty stoked about the singing, and very honored.
